Poetic Expression Challenges
May Challenges
For our first mini assignment for May, we were to write Dear Diary poem with the following challenge words:
strawberries, greater, slowly, familiar, encouraged, sweetness, basket, laughter, beginning, floated
Dear diary, nothing is greater
than the familiar taste
Of the sweetness of strawberries
with laughter on my face
As the basket floated slowly
I was encouraged to find
That the dream just kept beginning
with each sweet luscious bite.

This assignment was to write a limerick about mothers - about your own mum, yourself as a mum, mums/grandmas in general.
There was a sweet lady from Adelaide
Whose heart was a vision of beauty displayed
Her love and her smiles
Reached from across the miles
To encircle me in her mother's embrace.

The 3rd assignment for May was to write a short poem or verse that includes the word "tranquil" used correctly.
TRANQUIL: free from agitation of mind or spirit, free from disturbance or turmoil
Synonyms: calm, peaceful, serene, untroubled, quiet
~ Tranquility ~
Within a tranquil moment
I ponder here in peace
The soft and sensual feeling
which brings me sweet release
Finding this in comfort
a shelter in the storm,
So calming, so refining
it keeps me safe and warm.
Serenity is mine to hold
its wisdom by the hand
Encouragement that comes from above
when my troubles began -
And yet I feel its splendour
washing over me,
Embracing me within the arms
of calm serenity.
